Some coatings simply change a product's colour. Others change its value.
GRANITICO turns an ordinary surface into an expressive interior or architectural material with the depth, fine texture, and recognisable salt-and-pepper structure of natural granite.
The product does not become heavier, and there is no need to design around a stone slab, complicate the structure, or change the established production process.
MDF remains MDF. Metal remains metal. Glass remains glass. Visually, however, the surface gains the character of real stone.
Do not make the product from granite. Give it the character of granite.
When ordinary painting is no longer enough
Colour solves the basic task well. In premium interiors and contemporary architecture, however, colour alone is no longer enough.
When a manufacturer offers only another RAL shade, the client compares painting prices. When the manufacturer offers a new surface, the offer becomes design, emotion, and added value.
This is precisely the task GRANITICO solves.
Create visually and tactilely expressive surfaces
Distinguish products from standard painted goods
Offer designers a ready-made collection of mineral effects
Unify different materials with one decorative solution
Produce the effect serially on existing equipment
Create proprietary catalogues and samples for clients
This is not just another textured paint. It is a way to turn an ordinary item into a distinct product.
What GRANITICO is
GRANITICO is a water-based decorative coating system developed by the ICA laboratory to reproduce the material and tactile qualities of natural granite.
The effect is built through successive specialist coats that create depth and a distinctive mineral structure. A clear protective finish completes the cycle, preserving the texture and providing the required service properties.
GRANITICO is spray-applied:
With a manual spray gun
On automatic coating equipment
To one-off products
In serial production
The result is not a flat imitation of a stone pattern but an independent decorative surface that invites a closer look and touch.
Almost any surface, with the right coating cycle
GRANITICO is not tied to one material. The effect can be created on different rigid substrates for which a reliable primer and protective cycle can be selected.
01PrimerProvides adhesion, isolates the substrate, and protects metal from corrosion.02GRANITICOCreates the colour, depth, and recognisable mineral texture.03Protective finishDetermines surface resistance and the conditions in which it can be used.
MDF and wood-based materials
Stable substrate preparation, a base coat, two GRANITICO coats, and a clear protective finish. The cycle is adjusted to the part and its service conditions.
Glass
Glass requires special cleaning and an adhesion system. The coating is applied to the prepared side, and the composition and drying regime are verified with a control sample.
Steel, galvanised metal, and aluminium
The primer provides adhesion and, where necessary, corrosion protection. GRANITICO creates the effect, while the finish provides the required resistance.
Exterior products
A dedicated cycle is selected for UV, precipitation, humidity, temperature changes, and corrosion load. Interior test results cannot automatically be applied outdoors.
Stone effect on metal
A metal product does not have to look like metal.
With the right preparation, GRANITICO can be applied to steel, galvanised metal, aluminium, and other metal substrates. The primer provides adhesion and corrosion protection, while the decorative coats create the character of natural stone.

Counters, showcases, display, and exhibition structures
Doors, entrance groups, partitions, and facade elements
Luminaires, planters, advertising, and decorative elements
GRANITICO in interiors
In an interior, GRANITICO can become a calm mineral background or the main visual accent.
GRANITICO pairs particularly well with natural veneer, ultra-matt coatings, architectural glass, black metal, bronze, and aluminium.
Kitchen and furniture fronts
Cabinets and wardrobe systems
Wall panels, doors, and partitions
Painted glass and individual furniture elements
Retail, exhibition, and contract furniture
Applications
The same GRANITICO mineral texture can be used across different materials and products, maintaining one consistent visual language throughout a project.
Interior doors and partitions
Commercial furniture
Metal luminaires and profiles
Furniture for restaurants and hotels
Painted architectural glass
Retail and exhibition equipment
Facade elements and outdoor furniture
Can GRANITICO be used outdoors?
Yes, GRANITICO can be included in coating systems for exterior products. An interior cycle, however, cannot simply be moved outdoors without changes.
Selection takes account of UV, precipitation, humidity, temperature changes, corrosion load, and product location.
Before serial launch, the exterior cycle must be tested on the actual substrate and for the intended service conditions.
Primer for the specific substrate
Corrosion protection for metal
GRANITICO colour and decorative cycle
Exterior protective finish
Coat thickness, number of coats, and drying regimes
GRANITICO creates the effect. The primer and finish determine where that effect can perform.
Images indicate the direction of colour and texture but are not a digital colour standard. The final appearance depends on the substrate, base coat, application weight, equipment, and lighting.
On-screen colour is a direction. The working catalogue is created in production
The GRANITICO collection includes 17 ready-made colours, from light mineral shades to deep coal black.
Light colours make the texture soft and delicate. Grey shades evoke architectural stone and concrete. Dark colours create a deep graphite surface with especially expressive grain.
An on-screen image helps choose a direction but is not a digital colour standard. The real GRANITICO catalogue is therefore created in production, not on screen.

EN 15187

The AO800G10 clear water-based finish has also been tested in accordance with UNI 11216, FIRA 6250, and MÖBELFAKTA.
The performance of the finished coating depends on the complete cycle, substrate, preparation, application weight, and service conditions. Exterior use requires a separately developed system with the appropriate protective finish.
Not a granite slab, and that is the advantage
GRANITICO is not intended to replace natural stone everywhere. Its task is to bring the character of granite where a real slab is too heavy, expensive, difficult to process, or restrictive in form.
Finish large and non-standard parts
Coat the finished product directly in its own form
Reduce structural weight
Unify parts made from different materials
Repeat the surface in serial production
Stone no longer determines the product's structure. The structure gains the character of stone.
Is this a granite or marble effect?
GRANITICO reproduces the fine-grained structure of natural granite and its characteristic salt-and-pepper effect.
It is not an imitation of veined marble. Marble patterns require different materials and application techniques.
GRANITICO suits projects seeking a contemporary mineral surface: granite, stone, cement, gravel, sand, or volcanic rock, without the decorative theatricality of classic marble.
How the coating is built
The sequence below shows the logic of a basic interior cycle. The specific cycle and its performance must be verified on the client's substrate, taking account of the product design and future service conditions.

Your working catalogue, not someone else's sample
A sample coated under ideal laboratory conditions may look impressive, but it does not prove that the client's plant will achieve the same result on its own equipment.
The client selects shades on the website and purchases a working material set. A FarbyPRO technologist and the client's painter then produce the first samples at the client's plant, remotely or on site where possible.
A cycle adjusted to the actual substrate
Real samples made with the client's own equipment
A clear understanding of consumption and application settings
A trained painter and a proprietary working catalogue
This catalogue shows more than how GRANITICO looks. It confirms that the plant can already produce the surface.

A first result made on your own equipment is more valuable than someone else's perfect sample: it can already be repeated in production.
A new surface is a new product
For a manufacturer, GRANITICO is not merely another paint in the range. It is an opportunity to create a proprietary line of furniture, metal, glass, or architectural products with a natural stone effect.
The designer can apply one texture across different materials. The manufacturer gains a repeatable process and moves beyond direct price comparison with ordinary painting. The client receives a distinctive contemporary surface.
Launch your own GRANITICO collection
FarbyPRO will select the complete cycle, calculate the working material set, and carry out the first launch with your team.
Do not buy just another can of paint. Create a surface you can produce and sell.
